Nocton Estate - new work

Improvements

Lincolnshire County Council have recently laid crushed stone on the path at GR 063637, near the entrance to the reservoir.

New posts have also been erected clarifying this as a footpath, since horses and bikes have been using the route and it tended to get extremely muddy at this 'pinch-point' during wet weather.

Unfortunately, it is all too easy for new aluminium/steel posts to be erected, despite there being perfectly serviceable wooden posts in place, much more in keeping with our rural idyll.  Let's hope the excessive 'street furniture' we now see on our streets and roads, doesn't start to clutter our lovely countryside.

Finally, it's that time of year again... and the chattering and twittering masses are lining the wires ready for their long journey home. I love watching these little birds swooping, diving and demonstrating agility on the wing during the summer as they feed.

See you again next year chaps.
