Nocton unveils changes to planning application
Anaerobic Digestion is all fine and dandy... but what happens if the Digester breaks down... will there be sufficient slurry storage capacity for this eventuality... if not, how is Nocton Dairies going to dispose of the vast amounts of waste product from their cows?
Furthermore, we must not forget this huge facility is going to be located right on top of the fragile aquifer... and any accidental spillage of digestate or slurry will be of concern on environmental grounds. The plan for the waste system and piping must be foolproof.
I would like to see a full risk assessment on this matter before commenting further... perhaps if the application were to be submitted instead of contributing to articles in the farming press, we could get on with it.
Finally, what has happened to Mr Willes... who now seems to have been replaced by Mr Barnes as spokesperson for the applicants... is he taking a holiday?
