Government response to petition 'giantdairy'

This petition was set up many months ago when the original planning application for an 8,100 cow dairy was submitted by Nocton Dairies Ltd.  It requested the Prime Minister to call a public inquiry into the development of large-scale intensive dairy units.

Unfortunately, the respondent to this petition has limited their comment to that original application (no doubt due to political expediency), totally ignoring the fact that a contentious re-application has since been made for a smaller herd in the same location.

  1. The response from the Government to the petition also completely misses the point - and thereby avoids addressing the main thrust - which is the request for a full national inquiry.
Hey ho - so much for democracy.
