Nocton 'All Saints' Church

I really enjoy listening to the bells ringing out over our village on a Sunday. The sound never fails to remind me of my youth, when for many years I was 'encouraged' to attend both morning and evensong services by my parents. I served first as a chorister and then latterly as an altar boy at the Parish Church of All Saints, Old Glossop.

It was particularly nice to hear the peals again this weekend, celebrating the marriage of Prince William to Catherine Middleton. I believe the tradition of bell ringing is important to a village community - and long may it continue.

  1. I love hearing the bells too ... a really beautiful sound drifting across a sunlit evening ... I was told recently about someone in Nottinghamshire who'd moved into a house next door to a church and then complained about the bells! Difficult to comprehend.
