Map of Lincolnshire - 1611/12
'Cambridge University Library has one of five known sets of proof maps prepared for John Speed's Theatre of the Empire of Great Britaine, which was published in 1611/12.'
Click on the 'Lincolnshire' link and view the map at your leisure - you can zoom in and out - Nockton is clearly shown, as are other local villages.

Property in Nocton
I received a promotional card through the door yesterday from Reeds Rains - The Estate Agent - announcing: 'Properties are urgently required in your area' (http://www.reedsrains.co.uk/).
Could it be that with the dairy plans having been withdrawn... and the future more certain... interest in Nocton property is on the rise once again? I have certainly noticed a few more more 'Sold' boards appearing recently as I wander around our lovely village.

Re property in Nocton - with the increase in Sold signs only seeks to confirm my research that the Dairy WAS affecting property sales and was encouraging people to ask sellers to knock ridiculous amounts off the sale price and that several house sales fell through just by the mere threat of the dairy - pity property blight wasn't looked at a little more in depth and should be so in future planning decisions as there is true evidence now that this was the case.
