Willes... watch this space... again

Dairy farm boss welcomes WI's move

'... we may put in another application after a couple of years...'

Mr Willes may put in another application for a mega-dairy, but he does not say where this might be located.  It could be anywhere in the UK... and even then he would still face massive opposition to his plans.  The fight against huge dairy farms has clearly not diminished... quite the reverse.  WSPA and CiWF are unlikely to go away following validation of their energetic and innovative campaigns winning National awards!

"We need some changes in planning" Willes says, but for any re-application for Nocton Heath to have any chance of success, the Environment Agency would need to be removed as a mandatory specialist advisor to planning... and I can't see that happening any time soon.

WI saga highlights need to educate more

'No longer are we dealing with a populace that has no knowledge of farming at all, but one that is keen to know more and increasingly is up to speed and able to make informed decisions about their food choices.'

Death wish: Routine use of vital antibiotics on farms threatens human health

'As Europe and the US face up to the menace of antibiotic-resistant superbugs, UK farmers have dramatically increased their use of the drugs most likely to cause these lethal strains.'
