Power and planning

You may recall that Government is looking to simplify planning regulation, thus making it easier for developers to gain permission for their developments.  At the same time there is a move to devolve 'power' from central Government to District and Parish Councils.  It therefore makes it all the more important for our local representatives to be well briefed on matters and able to respond to challenges when they arise, especially so when you read the following articles.

I'm sure the controversial Nocton Dairies' application is still fresh in villagers' minds and I believe the local community should not become too complacent.  It would not surprise me if a similar application were to emerge, once the changes in planning legislation have been approved.
