Heating oil

Nocton Consortium

I have been informed that local residents on Manor Court benefit from ordering their oil as a consortium, making quite a saving.

This is what Mick Middleton had to say after discussing this issue with me:

"When ordering oil drops for Manor Court on Friday, I spoke with Jemma Crossland who is the Buying Manager for Chandlers and we talked about buying oil for whole village groups in order to get even better prices. Chandlers now have a dedicated web link for individual villages and Jemma created one for Nocton.   Maryanne Williams, one of our Parish Councillors, has also spoken with Jemma and me about this. To get it started we suggested getting our details onto the link. If there are no objections I can call Chandlers on Monday and ask her to do this for Manor Court customers. They seem to have all of our customer details anyway. The link https://groups.chandlersoil.com/nocton

Anyone unable to use the link can register by calling Chandlers on 0845 6202010 and they will put their details on. Jemma will run the full ordering process by card,  telephone, email etc and the link explains all this. There is of course no commitment to using Chandlers and I am happy to do a monitor/comparison check on pricing and amounts say twice a year.

Geoff has kindly agreed to mention it via his Nocton Blog as well as Chris of the Parish Magazine and by word of mouth.

Just need to discover oil in our front or back gardens!"

MaryAnn also kindly provided me with the following promotional material issued by Chandlers Oil:

Chandlers Oil

I would like to formally record 'thanks' to Mick for initially contacting me via my blog... also to Councillor MaryAnn Williams who was coincidentally pursuing similar arrangements with Chandlers Oil.  I believe this could become a very good arrangement for Nocton residents. The more people that sign up for the service, the more competitive your prices will become..

By the way, I am not on commission nor do I benefit from promoting this... as my household is all electric!

Fortunately, it seems electricity users may be allowed to make similar arrangements in the future, if the following article is to be believed:
