I see this morning in local elections that the Conservatives have lost control of North Kesteven, now under no overall control. Maybe a mix of Councillors will see sense, or is it too late? I would love to see it as a training hotel and restaurant for disadvantaged people to get them back on their feet.oxbionethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09039001599341630690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3377548475394156858.post-4863358321630513222018-10-06T10:28:21.907+01:002018-10-06T10:28:21.907+01:00Hi Andrew and thanks for your comment. I think the only hope for Nocton Hall will be for some large organisation to somehow wrest this asset away from the current owners, perhaps under a compulsory purchase order. Working in partnership with North Kesteven District Council and the relevant heritage authorities, maybe some agreement can be reached about an enabling development on the old RAF Hospital site in order to fund the restoration of the Hall to make it a viable commercial entity for the future. Based on the difficulties faced to date, I suspect the most likely outcome will be that due to inaction from the relevant authorities that have the necessary powers, the main facades will finally deteriorate so much that the only remedy will be to finally demolish it altogether. This would be a very sad end to what was a very fine building and part of the heritage of Lincolnshire. Victor told us many stories of life at Nocton when he was young. I hope something can be dome with this historical & lovely place which we hope to come and visit one day.
