Nocton Doodle
The following was received from Jilly yesterday:
'Hi Everyone
Well next week is September already! At least we saw (and are still seeing) some sunshine this summer!
Just a quick reminder that tomorrow (Wednesday 28th August) was the copy deadline for “the Doodle”. However, due to the Bank Holiday and a couple of requests after the bigger summer holidays, I have extended this until tea time Saturday 31st August. So if you haven’t yet submitted your article/news/event, you have a couple or so more days to get it ready. Distribution is scheduled for the second week in September.
I am skydiving for “Help For Heroes” a week today! If you are interested in reading a bit about it (and may be donating a small amount – I’d really like to reach my £600 target!) you can find all the details at http://www.bmycharity.com/jillyisjumping Thank you.
I’ll look forward to catching up with everyone this “New Doodle Year 2013-14”
Regards for now

“the Doodle”
You've probably seen the sunflowers growing in the fields, so I thought you might like to read this:
Summer sun produces a bumper crop of sunflowers as far north as Lincolnshire - but ALL of them will be used as bird food
'It looks like a scene from the south of France but the high temperatures in July and August have helped this spectacular crop of sunflowers flourish in the heart of the UK.'

Keep enjoying the summer folks, while it lasts!
