Officially designated as No. 1 RAF Hospital Nocton Hall it opened in June 1947. It was used by forces personnel, their families and local civilians until it closed on 31 March 1983.

Winston Churchill's Dakota is to taxi at Lincolnshire airfield...and one day may even fly

We will remember them...

Walking my two Jack Russell dogs through the pleasure grounds of Nocton Hall yesterday, I noticed that a number of poppies had been attached to the main gates of the old RAF Hospital site for Remembrance Day. What a lovely gesture... I just wish I had thought of it.

"Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them."

  2. The site of the dilapidated RAF Nocton Hall and that of the Grade II Listed property is in private ownership. The normal protocol would be to request permission for access from said owners, Leda Properties Ltd. However, there have been incidences of people gaining unauthorised access, but given that security personnel regularly patrol the site with their dog and monitor the integrity of the fence... this is not to be recommended.
