Further to my last blog on this matter, I decided to email Steve Brookes for more information following their Friday update:
"Hi Steve,
Looking at the 22nd July update: “Needs external fibre provision and the Exchange to be completed”, this appears to relate purely to the commissioning of the new fibre cabinet.
I have a few questions for you if that’s OK:
- Please can you let me have an estimated timeline for the commissioning work to be undertaken?
- How did you get on with the assessment of costs that BT were going to provide for bringing over the Cab 3 lines… has this contract been received and agreed yet?
- Will this be dealt with as a separate entity to the commissioning of Cab 17… if so, what sort of extended timeframe are we on for this additional work?"
"Good Morning Geoff
BT tell me they will complete commissioning within 2 weeks.
I have raised a job for the transfer of the Cab 3 lines and we are happy with the associated costs. On that basis, we can go ahead. They have just put this into their system and I await a timescale. As soon as I get it, I will let you know.
Regards
Steve"
