This has now had the new fibre Cabinet shell resited across from the Post Office. Copper rearrangement works is being planning to shift all the copper pairs from old cab to new PCP 17.

DeleteI have just moved to Nocton and have discovered that I am connected to Metheringham Cab 3, so any information on if they would move all the lines at this Cab to the new Cab in Nocton??

Live in wasps nest & will never get fibre broadband but hoping for better reception than less than 1gb
I think you need to keep expectations to a minimum Jane. That said, I do believe there might be a slight improvement given time. If people choose to upgrade to the new fibre service, this will relieve some of the pressure off the existing copper network, which may result in a slight improvement of speed for those who remain on that service. However, there are no indications as to when the fibre service will go live, never mind how many residents will choose to sign up for the superfast service. I fear you may be waiting a long time.

ReplyDeleteUpdate on the Change Request
ReplyDeleteIt seems BT were quoting a four figure sum just for administration costs related to the Change Request, but following a further meeting with them, Steve Brookes of Onlincolnshire has managed to get the admin fees set aside. A formal document scheduling the overall cost is now awaited to 'sign off', but having looked at the job requirements and having spoken again with BT, Steve doesn't think this will be an issue. He concluded his email to me with "In summary, I think we are getting there... I think they are a little more clear on the way ahead following yesterday's rather vigorous meeting."
Good new Geoff, fingers crossed were nearly there.
