I refer to my blog dated 4 March 2017 which reported that preparation work had commenced on marking out the new relief road. I can now report the construction work has started in earnest.

You may like to see the official notice regarding the 'closure' of the bridleway between Nocton and Dunston. A copy is posted on the Parish Council noticeboard on The Green.

Road Closure Notice
Dear Sir/Madam,
Temporary Footpath Closure: Dunston/Nocton
Please note it will be necessary to impose a temporary restriction to all users of the footpath(s) detailed below.
Reason for closure: Essential maintenance works by Daniel Charles Construction
Location: Dunston Public Right of Way (PROW) 16 (Closed 590 metres North of Back Lane); Nocton PROW 26 (Closed in vicinity of PROW 815)
Period of closure: 24/04/2017 to 14/07/2017 (Closures to be implemented as & when required during this period, signage detailing accurate dates & times will be displayed on site in advance)
Alternative route: Local diversion routes & access arrangements will be signposted

Please be assured that this footpath will not be closed completely, as Beeswax Dyson Farming will ensure access through the crossing point throughout the period of construction works, as reported at the Parish Council meeting on 11 April.
