Best Kept Village

My small contribution

I swept out and tidied the two bus stops situated on Main Street earlier this week, cutting back vegetation surrounding the seated area.

I then joined Councillor Goldsworthy to see if there was anything we could do to repair the damaged wall at the entrance to the driveway to Nocton Hall / Nursing Home. However, it appears some of the stone has been robbed away and the huge weight of the pillar capping stone stopped us effecting a repair. That said, we were able to tidy the area to make it look more presentable.

Two new dog waste bins have now been purchased by the Parish Council for the bridle-path, but we couldn't fit these today due to an incompatibility with the existing posts... and the fact that the bolts had seized in place. This job will have to be attended to at a late date.

Finally, it is pleasing to see the damaged wall has now been repaired at the bottom of Wellhead Lane.
