Nocton links with Australia

Nocton village left its historical mark on Australia

The city of Hobart in Australia was named after a high-profile member of parliament who owned Nocton Hall... he is buried in All Saints Church, Nocton.

You may like to read these earlier blogs about Sir Robert Hobart [b. 6 May 1760, d. 4 Feb 1816]:
There is also a winery near the village of Richmond, Tasmania called Nocton Vineyard.

Now that would be a good place to have a twinning arrangement!

  1. Hi Geoff, both myself and Sue enjoyed a wine tasting event at Nocton Vineyard in Richmond, it’s only about 20km North of Hobart , Tasmania, and both Hobart and the vineyard are well worth a visit. Roy W.
