Fly-tipping

Nocton Hall

Once again the land owned by Leda Properties is being used for illegal fly-tipping... with the bill for clearing up being borne by local taxpayers. Each time rubbish is dumped on this private land, North Kesteven District Council are obligated to remove the potentially contaminated material. If you look closely at the photograph below you will see 'NK-Aware' tape encircling the rubbish pile.

Last time this happened, the NKDC investigation team were able to identify the persons responsible for the dumping. Let's hope subsequent examination of this waste will result in prosecution too.

Perhaps Leda Properties should also fulfil their responsibilities by tightening security on the site e.g. by installing a barrier at the approach to the RAF Hospital site to hinder vehicles approaching the access gates and the land to the South and East of Nocton Hall?

Illegal fly-tipping at Nocton Hall

Fly-tipping costs Lincoln taxpayers £27,000 a year and it's on the increase

'The number of fly-tipping incidents in Lincoln rose by 22 per cent last year, with ironing boards, rabbit hutches and even a gas fire among more than 1,000 items dumped.'

  1. When representatives of the Parish Council met with LEDA Properties back in April, we were promised, amongst other things, that CCTV cameras and a road barrier were to be installed in an attempt to prevent fly-tipping and unauthorised access to the Hall/former Hospital site. Unfortunately, and despite chasing LEDA for a progress report, the Parish Council has not even had the courtesy of a reply. I am sure most residents will agree with me that this situation remains intolerable and we will be reviewing the position at our next meeting. Ian Goldsworthy (Vice-chair Nocton PC)

  2. I totally agree the situation with unauthorized access to the old hospital is becoming intolerable with youths parking their cars all over the village and making a noise til early hours of the morning, but if leda wont meet with the Parish or district council i really don't know what can be done. Leda need to see for themselves what effect their neglect is having on the people of this otherwise quiet peaceful village.
