I refer to my blog on this particular application... and you can now see that the applicant has placed the plot on the open market following the grant of outline planning permission.

Let's see if this is the first of many development 'opportunities' for this site... as I can see other outline planning applications emerging for the surrounding land given time.

16/0795/FUL - Planning application for the erection of 1no dwelling and garage

Well perhaps the risk averse culture over potential planning appeals at North Kesteven District Council is finally coming to an end?

I understand the Planning Sub Committee, Eastgate decided to refuse this application by 16 votes to nil, with one abstention, despite a recommendation to accept from the planning officer.

This is the full Audio Recording for the Planning Sub Committee meeting held on 19th October 2016. The recording of the Plot 72A application starts at 2.07.18, with the Planning Officer's introduction. The hearing concludes at 2.49.13. I can recommend it is well worth a listen.

You might like to listen carefully for the reactions of the Chair, overheard on the microphone after the conclusion of the vote, to infer it will get through on appeal.

It will be interesting to see whether Sowerby Homes is now prompted or encouraged to submit an appeal against the decision of refusal!
